Sevilla, Spain: After a lot of walking yesterday, we decided to sleep in a bit today and get a later start. We spent the majority of our time today at Plaza de España. The plaza is part of the park / gardens that we visited yesterday. Originally built as part of the Ibero – American Exposition of 1929, the plaza was home to the “Spain” exhibit. It is a large semi-circular building with panels for each of the provinces in Spain. A large fountain is in the center of the plaza and the area seems to be consistently full of visitors. The tile work all along the walkways and staircases is impressive and the individual panels for each province are quite interesting.

We have now come back to our apartment for a bit of rest before heading out for a soccer match. Tonight Real Betis is playing Real Madrid at Estadio Benito Villamarín. Although we are in Sevilla, I will be rooting hard for a Madrid victory. However, given the season to date, I am not optimistic and expect to come back tonight disappointed. Oh well…I can cling to the last couple of years anyway.
